Paul Hayllor

Paul served in the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force between 1988 and 1999 seeing service in the Middle East, Far East, Mediterranean and home waters. Since leaving he has been active in the veterans arena and helped to develop the Veterans First Point support service and latterly as Head of Charitable Services for Poppyscotland where he was closely involved in the merger with the Royal British Legion

Paul has recently returned from a 3 year working holiday in Australia where again he was involved in welfare and support services for isolated and marginalised members of the community and also helped develop a regional approach to suicide prevention and intervention. He also was Chair of the Board for an independent primary school and through active lobbying, was able to get the Federal and State governments to approve funding for another local school in the area where he lived.

He now lives in Edinburgh and is very keen to engage all stakeholders in working together to improve outcomes for service leavers, veterans and their families living in the Lothians.
