Alexander Dockar

Alex Dockar was commissioned into the 1st Bn The Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment) from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in 1988.  Serving initially with the 1st Bn in BAOR before deploying with the Regiment on Operation Desert Storm in 1990-91. He served with the 1st Bn in Northern Ireland whilst stationed at Fort George.  Since resigning his commission, Alex has been pursuing a career in financial services, initially in London before setting up his own wealth management practice in Edinburgh.

Paul Hayllor

Paul served in the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force between 1988 and 1999 seeing service in the Middle East, Far East, Mediterranean and home waters. Since leaving he has been active in the veterans arena and helped to develop the Veterans First Point support service and latterly as Head of Charitable Services for Poppyscotland where he was closely involved in the merger with the Royal British Legion

Bruce Smith

Inspired by his Normandy Veteran father and a Dunkirk Veteran uncle, Bruce has taken a keen interest in how we care for service people for many years. He originally trained as a teacher, and after an early career in retail management and banking, he started his own training consultancy business in 2000 and is proud to include the RAF amongst his list of clients. Bruce takes a particular interest in the employment transition from military to civilian life. He was formerly a director of The Mark Wright Project.

Xtreme Karting - Legion Scotland

"Recent research has found that large numbers of veterans in Scotland experience loneliness and isolation and now many charities are trying to combat the problem."

Today, Veterans from the Lothians Veterans Centre and follow Veterans Charities teamed up with Veteran Minister Keith Brown MSP and participated at Xtreme Karting Edinburgh for a comradeship event.
